Song of the Day: Soak Up The Sun, by Sheryl Crow.  Gearing up for Friday night with my #SoleSister #LoyalBlogFollower

I’m gonna soak up the sun
I’m gonna tell everyone
To lighten up (I’m gonna tell ’em that)
I’ve got no one to blame
For every time I feel lame
I’m looking up
I’m gonna soak up the sun
I’m gonna soak up the sun

To Do Lists Never Looked So Good

30 Jun

My new obsession for staying (or attempting to be) organized. ¬†The Lilly Pulitzer To Do Planner. ¬†Meredith got me hooked on the Lilly Pulitzer Agenda and I’m on year 4 of that and loving it. ¬†Mine is Tusk in the Sun. While they start in August, they go through the following December. ¬†Amazon or LillyPulitzer.com. ¬†The 2017-2018 Planners will be out in August. ¬†Can’t wait!!

My day got more Lilly, with my new To Do Planner! $25.00

TO DO PLANNER DESCRIPTION

We know there’s never enough time in the day for all the things on your list, but the To Do Planner is here to help you keep track of every shopping list, lunch date, and vacation itinerary. The hand painted cover art and gold details will keep you in a permanent sunny state of mind.

To Get; Top Priorities; Appointments; Calls and Emails; To Do.  Two full pages are dedicated to each day.

Even the back cover is cute. ¬†I’ve chosen not to show one of my actual To Do pages, because I hate to frighten my few blog followers with my plans for world domination! ¬†Or my scribble scratch handwriting. ¬†Here’s a sneak peak at what today shall bring. ¬†Edited, of course. ¬†I mean, a girl needs to have some secrets. ūüėČ

1045AM – Start the weekend

Brunch with Mer Mer

Costco РFood for holiday weekend.  And booze.  Lots of booze.  And wine.  And Stella.

Pick up cake to bring to Joy’s

Catch a few rays, if the sun is out…to get a base for Sunday.

Plan outfits for weekend and holiday week, including 2 Cubs games and Sheryl Crow Concert

Desperately trying to find this dress…and I’m not having success. ¬†Thought would be super cute for the 4th.

Happy Hour!

Dinner, or no dinner…Options.

Hello Weekend! ¬†Make it a great one!! ¬†I will repost my 4th of July post from years past, because it’s a darned great blog chock-full of great Patriotic info!

My Summer Reading List

16 Jun

Summer is upon us and for me that means gathering books for my summer reading list. ¬†Be it at the Beach, Vacation, Home or on my Deck…I have Big Plans to rifle through many books this summer.

1. Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham.  Loved Gilmore Girls and loved Parenthood.  Reading Talking as fast as I can now.

2. Teammate, My Journey in Baseball and a World Series for the Ages by David Ross.  You can never get too much Cubs winning the World Series!

3. Giftology by John Ruhlin. ¬†I love this book. Haven’t yet finished it, because I’m not quite ready for it to be over. ¬†This book is a must-read if you give gifts. ¬†This book will be its’ own blog.

4. The Beach House by Jane Green – I love beach houses and love Jane Green.

5. Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella – Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite authors!

6. After You: A Novel by Jojo Moyes – I loved the movie, Me Before You, about the book by Jojo Moyes… I hope to read all of her books.

7. ¬†Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom – I’ve read this book twice and plan on reading it for a third time. ¬†It’s about Morrie Schwartz, who had an impactful impression on the author, Mitch Albom. ¬†Morrie has ALS. ¬†Enough said.

8. The life-changing magic of tidying up by Marie Kondo РI skim this book often and will continue to skim it, to  get more organizing ideas.

9. One plus one, by Jojo Moyes – Another Jojo book!

10. Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight – I have had this book for at least 3 years and looking forward to reading it.

11. ¬†All the light we cannot see by Anthony Doerr – Two of my favorite friends have told me this is one of their all-time favorite books. ¬†It’s been on my nightstand waiting to be read. ¬†I shall do that this summer.

More Beach Reads/Suggestions

After you is also on my list and in my stock on my coffee table.  What Alice Forgot is now on my Wish List!

I’m a big Emily Giffin fan. ¬†Also Erin Hilderbrand.

Speaking of BookBub…I have signed up for free or big discounted ebooks. ¬†I get a daily email and never pay more than $2.99 for a book. ¬†My Kindle is quite filled!

Everyone who comments on this post, by 10pm Saturday, will be entered to win the book of their choice from My Summer Reading List. Five commenters will be chosen at random. ¬†I will gift it to them, in hopes they will pay it forward and gift it to someone else, so they can enjoy the book as well. Don’t you love Fridays? :). Winners will be announced Monday morning. Don’t you love Mondays?

That I am!  Happy reading!

T.

Summer Hours

9 Jun

I’m on summer blogging hours, hence why no blog today. ¬†Received 7 inquiries about that. ¬†No, I am not trapped under something heavy, nor am I sick. ¬†Just plotting to make this the Best. Summer. Ever. ¬†First on deck, the race track with my favorite guy!

I’m guessing he will not be wearing his cap and gown to the track. ¬†But you never know! ¬†Speaking of my Sonny Bunny, nothing brought me more delight this morning, than coming home to him watching You’ve Got Mail.
