Driving home from my brother Luke’s house, the song, The Twelve Days of Christmas came on the radio. Meredith, Patrick and I sang that entire song, each and every verse. Loudly. That will remain one of my happiest memories of this holiday season. Murphy even seemed to enjoy the impromptu concert!
In keeping with the holiday spirit, I will partake in the 12 Days of Random Acts of Kindness/Christmas Kindness
Since my “office staff” consists of Murphy (best. assistant. ever) and myself, and I’ve already sent treats to my Scottsdale office, I am providing treats to my UPS man, who has an assistant this time of year, and makes at least one daily stop to my house…and sometimes is here twice! I’m guessing I will be more successful at these 12 Days of Christmas Kindness, than I was the 30-day Ab Challenge.
In case you are looking for more things to do before the year’s end…I love this list. We don’t have 31 days left in the month, but I’m thinking you can pick and choose what you want. #choices
A few things I have already done…I have a snowglobe collection, which is displayed on our foyer table, during the holidays. Some I’ve received from my mom and dad. ❤ The kids, Murphy and I have gone on 3 excursions looking at Christmas lights. Mary even joined us for one outing. I’m sure there will be a 4th. I have my party dress, not quite of “my dreams”, but I love it nonetheless and will wear it next week. Meredith and I will go to Dry Bar for our first “blowout”. I plan on knocking off a few more of these items this weekend.
The Code of the Elves – I love this and try to live this.
The Chicago Bears – I have a lot to say about Jay Cutler, Marc Trestman and this deplorable season. But I will allow this joke, provided by my dear friend, Carol…do the talking for me. But do not fear, for Jay Cutler needs a Life Coach, Version 3, is coming in January. 🙂
*My Father Is a Dancer*
One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for
All the typical answers came up – fireman, mechanic, businessman,
salesman… and so forth..
However, little Phil Jr. was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the
teacher prodded him about his father, he replied, “My father’s an exotic
dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes to music in front of
other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is
really good, he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for
The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other
children to work on some exercises and took little Phil Jr. aside to ask
him, “Is that really true about your father?”
“No,” the boy said, “He plays football for the Chicago Bears, but it’s
too embarrassing to say that in front of the other kids.”
My sister Megan sent me this video clip, Jay Cutler I’m Giving Up On You. #Hilarious
Holiday Running Playlist
Song of the Day: Not featured on this list, but one of my favorites: My Grown Up Christmas Wish, by Kelly Clarkson. Still waiting for some snappy holiday tunes from Stephanie, which she no doubt is shuddering at today’s selection. Oh well, many more holiday blogs coming up!
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list
Murphy picture of the day…Me and Murph, before I headed out on an early AM flight, with Meredith on a girl’s trip to the beach! Best news I heard this week: All dogs go to heaven, as proclaimed by our Pope. I rarely, if ever will discuss religion or politics in my snappy blog, but this deserved a mention… And All dogs, not just catholic dogs, will go to heaven. ❤ ❤ ❤ And that makes me and my family, very happy. #loveourmurph
Dressing your porch for the holidays, Christmas sweaters and a last-minute Holiday Gift Guide, coming up next week!
